I go about my life and suddenly a sound triggers a memory...
I was driving on the by-pass and the thumping of my tires on the road made me think of when I was little and my parents were shipping me off to Bible camp at Maywood. I HATED Bible camp. Not because it was Bible camp, but because it was camp. Anyway, I was all up set and dad asked me what was wrong and I told him (instead of telling him again for the billionth time that I didn't want to go to camp) that I didn't want to hear the sound of the tires on the road. HA! What a loon! His solution was turn up my headphones, which I did.
It's odd though, how sound, smell, or taste will trigger the strangest or smallest little memories...
Like sitting eating Whopper with my Grammy and Mom and the smell of the tomatoes makes me think of the time NO ONE could get me to eat my Whopper because it had tomato snot on it...not a soul could make me eat it. I would rather go hungry...all because of slime that I could not taste. Granted, it is gross, but oooooo, if that was a kid doing it to me, I would be so angry...my parents, shook their heads and let me be hungry...
I like these memories, I am glad I have them. I'm glad that we have these triggers to make us remember the small everyday unimportant events...because in the long run, that's what makes our lives.

leading by example
So, I've always heard of leading by example, we all know what it means...but have we seen it or done it?
I started a new job in June on 2011, I was surprised to find out that I felt like I didn't fit in around here. So, I tried reading some blogs, books, and self help to make me motivated. There was one website that was to help get others motivated that helped get me motivated. It had little print offs that you can cut and leave places for people that says silly things. So, I had my first "prank" I cut them out and set one on each person's desk, excluding the bosses, they didn't need help. Although I did put one in the ladies' restroom that said "So, THIS is where the magic happens!" The next day the employees were like brand new people. Laughing, cutting up, making jokes WITH me...I was surprised at the transformation one little slip of paper that said "Don't you wish someone would bring doughnuts? I know I do..." could make!!
Since then things have changed so much, I have passed out pencils, erasers, posits, you name it...just on a whim...but not only that...THEY have started passing out little trinkets. People only want to feel like they are cared for and part of a team. I now feel like part of a team because I made the team. Without even knowing what I was doing...I made a team! Because I lead by example, I showed them how to be giving a loving without expecting anything in return, but magic happened.
